Seasons of Healing: Teaching Patients about Wound Healing First Author: Laurel Wiersema-Bryant Authors: Cassandra WardLinda StammMichelle DonawayLeslie StanfillPatricia MaddenJohn Kirby, M.D. The process of wound healing is a difficult concept for many patients and families to understand. Wounds may seem to "hibernate" or be doing nothing for a period of time before coming to life and beginning the process of visible and measurable healing.A patient brochure was developed using the seasons of the year to "tell the story" of wound repair and healing. The poster will display the brochure with the content used to explain the phases of healing to a lay population. Graphics depicting images of the Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall will also be displayed. |
