Three interactive workshops were developed and presented to the nurses of a local home healthcare agency with the objective of addressing an apparent knowledge deficit in chronic wound care, gaining personal teaching experience and integrating education theory into practice at a practical level. There are many theoretical frameworks available to help with organization and understanding of adult learning. A combination of different perspectives is necessary to design and implement effective adult education which leads to the desired "measurable change in behaviour" 1 or learning. This poster presents an integration of Adult Learning Principles 2, Constructivist Theory 3, and Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle 4 and their application to the development, implementation and evaluation of these workshops. A valuable learning experience was created for both the workshop participants and facilitator as adult learners. This project represents a personal process of interpretation, active experimentation, and reflection or "learning" which may be helpful to others on their own life-long learning journey.
